A wee update

Hello, everyone. You alright?

I had a wee chuckle at my last blog post, with the “who knows what 2016 will bring…” patter. I’ll tell you what it brought: I got married to Colin, we welcomed the arrival of our majestic daughter, Erin, and moved into our new home, a week before I gave birth. Aye, that was hilarious. 🙄

It was a busy year.

Since then, we’ve welcomed one more exquisite bablet, Declan. We’ve also lost my sweet Dad, which has broken me. Right now it’s 3:08am and I’m only up typing this because we’re all loaded with the cold, and the wee man’s cough keeps waking him up, the poor sausage. 😔

Mind back in the day I used to consume all sorts of writerly material, be it podcasts, books or blog posts? Well, I’ve since morphed into a total weirdo who watches endless YouTube videos of people parading their latest food shop, or “speed cleaning” their immaculate grey homes with their plethora of mirrored furniture. The explosion of the glorious Mrs Hinch has validated my hobby somewhat, although it has to be said… I’ve got bags of cleaning products in the study, and my hoose continues to be an absolute tip.

So please, enlighten me. What’s new in the world of writing? Has self publishing become the preferred method for authors yet? Has the flash fiction/short story trend dissipated? Is Scrivener still Top Dog or has it been surpassed by some miracle software or app? Has a book knocked your wee socks off lately? I’m in the market for a gripping read.

It’d be lovely to hear from you all again. I’ve missed you.
