Hellooooo, stranger!
You may or may not be pleased to know that I haven’t yet shuffled off this mortal coil. I’m still alive, despite my bloggy silence.
We’re midway through summer now, which means the trauma of my first year of Open Uni has sufficiently faded (in all seriousness, it was wonderful, and I passed my Design Thinking module – yay!). I’ve also just had a fortnight off work, which allowed for the reading of SIX novels (more than I’ve read all year, sadly), and some quiet reflection over creative endeavours.
Who’s idea was it to coincide my first week back at work with this…?
That’s right! Ms. Inactive has only gone and written a short play, which will be performed in no less than TWO days time!
I’m so excited! I swung by the
Govanhill Baths last week to watch the rehearsals, and it was all I could do not to squeak after every line they read out. Writers – have you ever had your own work read out in front of you? It was a surreal experience, and I was howling at the sound effects created by my director,
Tom Brogan. He and the lovely
Karen Barclay will be directing the plays, and I simply cannot wait!
Alas… it is Sunday night, and so I must get myself mentally prepared for going back to work in the morn. I’ll

Love your writing. Would have come to see the play, had I known about it at least a week ahead if time!
Could you kindly keep me posted about your activities? I would love to come and see our play or whatever it is next.
Glasgow is not that far away, I live by City Airport, surely there are flight to hop onto.
As I have not had holidays for a long time, this would be a lovely break.
